Brachiosaurus – Everything You Need To Know

Brachiosaurus is a dinosaur that was first discovered in 1903. The brachiosaurus lived on the earth from 140-150 million years ago and had a whopping length of 78 feet, making it one of the largest dinosaurs to ever walk on this planet. In this article, we will discuss everything you need to know about brachiosaurus including its evolution, ancestors, food habits, teeth structure and size.

Brachiosaurus probably evolved from sauropodomorph, and originally descended from some of the earliest dinosaur species like Eoraptors and Plateosaurus, which were small dinosaurs with long necks. Brachiosaurus had a large body with strong legs to support its weight, but it did not have an extremely heavy build. The food that brachiosaurus ate consisted mainly of leaves and branches from trees which it could reach with its long neck. It is believed that brachiosaurus used its teeth to strip the bark off of these branches, much like a giraffe does today.

Interestingly, Brachiosaurus had two different types of teeth in its mouth. It had peg like teeth in the front of its mouth, and spoon shaped teeth on the back for grinding food to mash it up.

Brachiosaurus lived all over North America and Europe in different habitats. They spent most of their day eating. They had to constantly supply food to their massive bodies.

Adult Brachiosaurus had very few enemies due to their massive sizes. However when they were born they were only around two meters long and were very vulnerable to predators. The young brachiosaurus was cared for by the adult members of its herd, who would protect it from danger.

The largest brachiosaurus ever found was a female that weighed around 82 tonnes. Brachiosaurus could live up to 100 years.
