Free Speed Cubing (Rubik’s Cube) Class
Before We Start
It goes without saying that you are going to need a cube in order to start your adventure as a speed cuber! The most readily available cubes, which can be easily purchased at many local stores, is the Rubik’s brand cube. Perhaps you already have one! Unfortunately though this brand is pretty much the worst brand on the market. Rubik’s is the original, and they will always have a very special place in the hearts of cube solvers. But, the brand has really not moved forward in their design in many years, and as such, they are terrible for speed solving. The first thing you need to do, before we go any further, is to get yourself a good cube!
Following Are Suggested Cubes:
- MoYu Meilong Magnetic
An inexpensive cube from a really great brand. - GAN 356 R (Not Magnetic)
GAN is considered the best brand by many cubers. This entry level GAN is excellent. However, it is not magnetic. Which is a feature you will want as you get better at solving. Still though, this is a great cube. - GAN 356 M (Magnetic)
Basically the exact same cube as the last one, but this version is magnetic. Something you will find to be very helpful as you improve in your solving. - GAN 12M MagLev (Magnetic)
This is the current flagship cube for GAN. It isn’t cheap, but it is oh so nice to solve!
Time To Start Cubing!
Once you have picked yourself up a nice cube, it is time to begin putting it to practice! Complete each of these lessons in order. Take your time, and progress at your own pace! Practice, and master each skill before moving to the next lesson.
